Camping and Caravanning Club Privilege Scheme
Freedhome Luxury Motorhome Hire is part of the “Privilege” scheme operated by the Camping and Caravanning Club and as such we aren’t issued with a membership number. You can locate sites by simply logging on to the Camping & Caravanning Club site here.
There are no membership fees to pay and a usually a slightly reduced rate on pitch prices. Once you have chosen your site call 0247 6475 426 and state you are using the Privilege Scheme and an advisor will be happy to take your booking.
When you pick up your motorhome we will give you a pack with a key fob that permits you to use facilities on the individual sites, simply show the site warden your key card and you will be allocated a pitch.
There is a saving of up to 30% off standard non-member fees for Club Sites and Camping in the Forest sites located throughout the UK.
You don’t need to be a member to book ‘club sites’ or ‘camping in the forest sites’. If you have privilege membership, you can ring to book both these type of sites and get 30% and 15% discount respectively off the prices quoted online. There is no discount for certified or listed sites.
Your registration to be a privilege member is done over the phone directly with the Camping & Caravanning Club and confirmed when you arrive at the site(s). Freedhome Luxury Motorhome Hire identification that you are a privilege member of the C&CC is on the motorhome key fob and there is also a sticker on windscreen. There is a site handbook in the glove compartment.
Camping & Caravanning Club Site
The Camping and Caravanning Club owns 110 Club sites throughout the UK and membership allows you access to all of these sites and to take advantage of discounted rates and offers that may be running throughout the year. You can stay at club sites without being a member but the prices are higher.
The facilities offered may differ slightly from site to site but you know roughly what to expect when you arrive. The sites are easily accessible and easy to manoeuvre around. They are well maintained and all the facilities will be in good working order and cleaned regularly.
You can usually expect to find showers and toilets, washing-up facilities, laundry room, a children’s play area, chemical toilet emptying, grey waste emptying and fresh water taps around the site. Before you book you can check on the exact facilities a site offers.
A certificated site is a campsite that is for the exclusive use of Club members and is licensed for a maximum of five motorhomes or caravans. They may offer no facilities or they may have all the facilities you’d expect from a larger site. Very often they are in more out of the way places. The Camping and Caravanning Club has 1600 certificated sites throughout the UK which offer good value pitching.
Camping in the Forest
The Camping and Caravanning Club has teamed up with the Forestry Commission to create 16 campsites in forests, giving you a real ‘back to nature’ experience. Watch this short video to find out a bit more about Camping In The Forest.
Campsites in Europe
There are 150 Club Approved campsites for you to choose from covering 13 European countries and you can expect the same great service abroad as you’d find on UK Club sites.
Discounts and Special Offers
Being a member of The Camping and Caravanning Club means that you get the Club rates when you stay at any of their sites. It also means that you can take advantage of any special offers they may be running at sites around the UK. It may be ‘7 nights for the price of 5’ or a reduced rate for a grass pitch. You need to keep a lookout on their site for these special offers.
Shopping around for the right insurance for your motorhome can sometimes be a bit of a headache as some insurers may not understand the requirements of a motorhome owner. The Camping and Caravanning Club offers Club Care Insurance tailor made for your motorhome insurance needs. As a member you can benefit from competitive insurance rates and it’s easy to get a no obligation quote.
